A Special Message from John Beyerle:
Flash was rescued from a shelter in Tallahassee, Florida after his original owners put him there. He was part of a litter of Beagles meant for hunting, but Flash was too timid, so I suppose his owners didn’t know what to do with him. On the day he was scheduled to be put down, my son adopted him and drove all the way to our home in Jacksonville, looking for a place to keep him. It was supposed to be a temporary arrangement, but Flash stayed with us for ten years.
Flash was a great dog. He went everywhere with me. We drove up and down the east coast, to Texas and back, and often to see relatives in Louisville. He loved to eat and always seemed happy to see you. He lived a long time, and sadly passed of old age in Virginia Beach at my daughter’s house. Luckily, Pet Cremation Services was here to help with Flash’s remains.
I scattered Flash’s ashed in the little garden I keep outside our home, so in a way he’s still around. There will never be another dog like him.
